Oooh, I'm really liking how these guys are coming out! The interior patterns on all of them are very cool and the concepts are solid! Definitely keep those! Is that horse a selkie?
Some things to work on: Push those silhouettes more! Push that shape language a little harder! You've got some solid stuff, I think they just need refining. Also, the horse's mane has those two chunks that are longer than the rest and I'm not sure what's going on there?
Awesome work Katie! I love the consistent patterning you've got going with all your designs. It really helps bring the designs together as a cohesive group. Nice work! One thing I would take a look at is the anatomy on some. Some parts feel like they're tacked on. For example, the bird's legs in the third image feel like they're just barely hanging on to the bottom of the torso. Maybe adding some overlapping forms would help? Hope that makes sense! Great job!!
These are some exciting ideas. It's tough to put four wings on a bird. Maybe look at butterflies and moths for ideas? Can the two upper wings be larger and the two lower ones smaller, more like the tail stabilizers on an airplane?
It would be worth drawing some studies of birds and flying insects at this stage, before you go to finished designs. Set a timer to help you stay focused and use your time efficiently. The nice part is every time you draw a study of something in nature, you'll learn things you can apply to future designs.
